Aaron's first appearance as goalkeeper for the senior side was as a sub when Alan Knight was sent off in the FA Cup fourth round versus Leicester in January 1995. He came through a series of setbacks to re-establish himself as the club's first-choice keeper after Russell Hoult's departure for WBA in December 2000. Aaron was killed in a road accident just one week before the 2001-02 season was due to commence.
