Born in West Wittering, Chichester on 4 January 1995. Adam is a central defender who joined Pompey aged 12. He was part of the youth system from 2007-12, signing an Academy scholarship in summer 2011. His first call-up for Pompey's senior team was for a friendly versus FC Rostov, in which he came on as a substitute.

Adam's senior competitive debut was as a substitute in the Championship game versus West Ham United in January 2012. He made his first competitive League start for Pompey at Carlisle United on 25 August 2012.

Adam signed a new two-year deal with Pompey on 19 June 2015.

He has appeared for England at U18 and U19 level.

Adam signed for Championship side Ipswich Town on 6 June 2016, with Town defender Matt Clarke moving in the opposite direction. He is a fabulous young player who deserves to go far in the game.
