David signed for the club in the summer of 2007, and in his career wearing a Pompey shirt he scored 16 goals in 75 games. He scored one against Liverpool in December 2008 and was also Pompey's top goalscorer during 2010/11 with 14 goals. In July 2011, it was confirmed that David had left Fratton Park to join Championship rivals Leicester City.

Another favourite with fans, but did sometimes divide opinion.
