MATT CLARKE

Born in Barham, Suffolk on 22 September 1996. Matt is a central defender, who began his career at Ipswich Town's academy as an U7 player. He signed a scholarship with the club in the summer of 2013, making his professional debut on 12 August 2014 in a League Cup game. He signed a two-year professional deal in September 2014. Matt joined Pompey on a six-month loan deal on 3 August 2015 after impressing in several pre-season games.

Matt signed for Pompey on a permanent deal on 6 June 2016, with Adam Webster moving in the opposite direction. After three successful years at Pompey, he joined Premier League Brighton & Hove Albion on 21 June 2019. Matt now plays for Middlesbrough.
